Compelling American Conversations. Heather Shenkman's photo.

As some of you may know, I'm collaborating with Eric H.  Roth on writing an English as a Second Language (ESL) book.
Eric is a highly esteemed and extremely popular Professor at the University of Southern California (USC) where he teaches graduate students the pleasures and perils of academic writing and public speaking.
In addition to writing the book, Eric and I have decided to add photos to each and every chapter.
This book is in the editing stage and is nearing completion.

Earlier this year Eric published Compelling American Conversations.

For this book Eric asked if he could use one of my sports photographs to accompany the chapter about "Playing and Watching Sports." I was delighted and honored.

I reviewed my library of photos and decided to submit a photo of Heather Shenkman. I took this photo of Heather at the Culver City Municipal Pool in Culver City, California. She was raising money by swimming laps at the annual Coast 2 Coast Swim Challenge

The money raised by swimming laps is used to help teach underserved kids learn how to swim.

Below is the photograph of Heather that was published in Compelling American Conversations.  Observe Heather's beautiful  form, especially the high elbow and finger tips that gracefully glides over the water.

(Below: Heather opens up Compelling American Conversations  to Chapter 7. Thank you Heather.)
